Budget Brakes Advanced Driving Guide: Driving During a Flash Flood or Hurricane

Budget Brakes is committed to the safety of our customers by educating drivers on emergency driving, including driving during a flash flood or hurricane. Here are some safety tips for driving during flash floods and hurricanes from Budget Brakes.

•Never try to drive through a flooded road, bridge, or parking lot. Instead, find another route.

•Stay on high elevation roads.

•If your vehicle is flooded and can no longer run, abandon the vehicle and swim to higher ground.

•If your car is submerged, stay calm and wait for the vehicle to slowly fill with water. You likely will not be able to open your doors until the vehicle is full of water. Once full, the doors will open easily. Swim to safety.

•Get out of the water as soon as possible.

Budget Brakes hopes that drivers heed these driving tips during unsafe driving conditions.
