Budget Brakes Advanced Driving Guide: Driving in a Tornado

To ensure the safety of all our customers, Budget Brakes is committed to teaching drivers proper driving skills, including how to drive when in emergency situations. Here are some driving safety tips from Budget Brakes for driving during heavy thunderstorms and tornados.

•Never drive during heavy thunderstorms or tornado conditions. If possible, find a rest area and pull over. Even good drivers can be surprised when heavy winds sling debris onto the road.

•Do not try to outrun a tornado. They whip around, change direction, and jump from place to place. Even if they do not appear to be close to you, the heavy winds caused just outside a tornado can lift a car and toss it through the air.

•Seek shelter in a nearby building instead of driving.

•If there are no nearby buildings, park your car and lie in a ditch far away from your vehicle.

Budget Brakes hopes these driver safety tips will keep our customers safe during turbulent weather.
